28 April 2007

Darry and I decided that it might be fun to head out to Whitewater World. This is Dreamworld's newest theme park (its not actually part of Dreamworld) and competition for Wet 'n' Wild (go figure, we are on level 5 water restrictions and they open a new water park) anywho as we had vouchers so we decided to give it a go.

Compared to
Wet 'n' Wild it is quite a bit smaller and they don't serve theme park chicken which I was not impressed about. I haven't been on all the new rides at Wet 'n' Wild but some of them are similar to Whitewater Worlds new ones and we found that one side of the park felt like it had heated water compared to the other side which was freezing. It was a pretty good day, apart from the near drowning incident (the lifeguard almost jumped in!). Me and Darryl were coming down on a tube on one of the rides, it was a bit airborne at the end and I was in the front and bounced off the tube into the water, Darryl then floated on top of me so that I couldn't get up for air, my life flashed before my eyes and then i finally able to make it too the surface. Had I known that the lifeguard was cute as I might have stayed under there a bit longer!
Recommendations
If had to choose a day out at water park I would recommend Wet 'n' Wild

Wow that looks like fun
If I run fast I will make it
Owww, here it comes
Hehe, can you see me
That was fun

Home and Away spoiler

For all those Home and Away fans out there.
I haven't really watched Home and Away lately, but had to tune in to find out which favourite Home and Away cast member would not make it back from holiday.
In the second most saddest Home and Away eposide since Flynn died, on the day of Kit's birth Beth died in a car accident. She was on her way back from the airport after her trip overseas and was in a car accident that took her life. She never met her grandson (oh Kit had a boy!) and hadn't seen Matilda or Tony for over two months. We didn't get to see the funeral (would be hard to get all her children to come back on Home and Away) but was still really sad and since I haven't watched Home and Away for a while can't comment on the other storylines. But just thought I would let you know. Stay tuned for a blog and pictures from my Sydney trip.

BIG NEWS!!

Ok, well not really that big. But the most exciting thing that has happended lately (althought I am regretting it a little bit) is that I cut my hair. I felt it was time and was getting pretty split (even though i cut it regularly) so it had to go. I am regretting it a little bit, but only because now thatit doesnt have much weight it doesn't hold it down as much as it did when it was long.

I do have other semi-exciting news. Me and Darryl are going to Sydney on Friday to visit Pam, so there is bound to be something exciting to happen whilst we are away!!

So as my life is somewhat uneventful at the moment would love to get some emails and guestbooks messages from everyone!!

Horse Riding

This weekend me and Darryl decided to head out to Gumnuts Farm for a few hours of horse riding. I have done horse riding a few times and most times have enjoyed it. But I can tell you I think that is one of the most BORIEST horse riding treks I have ever done. We weren’t allowed to do anything. It was only me and Darryl and two instructors (who hardly spoke English) and our horses. We had to follow each other, not going off the track, no riding next to each other so you just sat there on your horse and looked at tree after tree, there were some kangaroos, wallabies and a hare, but you pretty much sat there and looked at tree after tree. Then we went into a paddock and its was like ok this could be good, but all we got to do was trot and because I was following two other horses I hardly got to do anything. So it was very disappointing. On the upside I got to see a bit of the Gold Coast country side as me and Debra didn’t really do a lot of travelling around.

Pretty Good Stash

Popcorn and Bubbles

10 April 2007

Thanks to everyone who sent me texts, emails, msns, wrote comments on my site and entries in my guestbook with birthday wishes (what would we do without technology!). Had a pretty good birthday this year and managed to celebrate it over 3 days (this is the new thing to do, just ask Quentin!). I got a pretty good haul with my gifts including an ipod, cute car seat covers, flowers, massage voucher, cute as Care Bears t-shirt and NZ chocolate (thanks Debra and Courtney!!).

Saturday Night

On Saturday night I decided to have a few pre birthday drinks (my birthday isn't actually till Tuesday 10 April).

Dustin, Nic and Nic's sister-in-law came over for a few drinks and of course some singstar. We then we proceeded to head into surfers to the new ice bar "Minus 5". I had been in Sydney before and had a good time so thought I would try it out on the Gold Coast. I can say that I was a disappointed with the Gold Coasts effort and the Sydney one was way better. The one here was just a room with a few sculptures and you weren't even allowed to take photos in it.

Someone was a bit pooped after all the celebrations.

Getting back on my bike

or in this case the ice.

On Tuesday night, I thought it was about time to make a return to the ice skating rink. It has been some eight months since the "accident" and I was feeling a bit nervous!

My instructor greeted me with a smile and told me to stay near the barriers and take it easy, which is exactly what I was planning on doing! I didn't need a repeat incident of last time.

But all in all it went well. I didn't fall over and still remembered most of my moves and my ankle didnt feel too bad.

Sorry for being so slack

(although I note I'm not the only one!!!)

Hey Everyone

Sorry haven't updated in a while. Things have been pretty hectic over here in the last couple of weeks. Darryl has moved over now so I have been a little pre-occupied being a gracious girlfriend and we have also had three hits of bad news which (touch wood), we don't get anymore.
Anyway, I'm here now and here are some pictures of my sexy beast.

She has a few dings and stuff but was a good bargain for $1,000.00 and she has aircon!! I also obtained my Queensland Drivers Licence as well. So I am totally "legally" allowed to drive.
Oh and a few weeks ago I loaded some vidoes on my photo gallery. They take a while to load but are hilarious to watch!!!!! I still have more to come, when I get around to it.
Take care

Six degress of separation

Who is the most famous person you could be connected to through the six degress of separation theory? (Six degrees of separation is the theory that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries.)
What makes me ask this question, is that I met someone on Friday who sat next to Drew Barrymore at the Hollywood premiere of her new movie with Hugh Grant "Music and Lyrics". Whilst I couldn't link myself to Drew Barrymore in less than six degrees (it would take 7) i could link myself to Jemina Kahn in 5 who I bet knows some equally as famous celebrities.
1. Me; who knows
2. My boss; who is married
3. his wife; who know
4. The PA; who works for
5. Jemina Khan; who went out with
6. Hugh Grant; who started in a movie with
7. Drew Barrymore
So how could you link yourself to (and you cant say that you know me and follow my links!!)

PS - Oh and I purchased myself a little Toyota Seca car this weekend and I get it on Monday, keep posted for pics.

Not a lot happening

Hey Kids
Haven't posted in a while, because too be honest not a lot has been happening really that has been blog worthy.
Work is going well, have started to settle in and get the hang of it. Always hate the first couple of weeks, although i DESPERATELY need a car as the bus which is supposed to get to work by 8.10 doesn't usually pick me up at my bus stop until 8.20 and when your work's clock is five minutes fast (good in the avo so I can catch the 5.30 bus - when i finish at 5.30) but not so good on your first week when you still have 15 minutes until you walk in works door. I haven't really had a telling off yet, but am sure its coming.
Living with the family is going .... ok, i invested in a tv this weekend to avoid potential arguments which have started rear about tv programs. My little sister Courtney has decided to go back to New Zealand and believe she is leaving on 20 March, but don't ask questions, that's all i know, she doesn't say much and is always in a foul mood!!
Popcorn and Bubbles are doing ok. They sleep all day (think because its so hot) and keep EVERYONE awake all night running around the house (we have wooden floors) and even though they are upstairs can hear everything! But its great to have cats around again.
Now, I was talking to Zac the other night and he said that he had Skype which I believe is a programme thingee that you can make free calls to other computers over the net or something. So I saw this starter kit for $10.00 and its came with mike and ear piece, so am gunna set it up and test it out. I think as long as you have speakers and a mike you should be able to use it. I got a CD with mine, but you can download the programme from BEBO, which btw is a fantastic site and I am totally addicted to it, so if anyone has it or knows how to use it let me know.
Anyway I have been jabbering on for ages, so time to go, hope something interesting happens this week I can blog about.
Love always

Week In Review

This week has been pretty busy, it saw me:

- Start my new job. I hadn't worked in over two months and getting back into it was hard. Long days (i now work 40 hours instead of my usualy 37.5 hours per week), starting a new job and getting the hang of it and catching the bus (which is always late) to work and getting told off. Fun. I definently need a car!! The good thing is though, I got paid, woo hoo and have spent it already!!

- Getting such a lovely surpise on Valentines day! :)

- Turning into an old lady, I decided to tag along with mum and her friend to Bingo on Wednesday night, and I actually won two prizes, is it wrong for me to say that i enjoyed it??
- finally being able to get my hair done!

- My sister turning 21. We had her party on Saturday and sang until our throats were dry.

Nic and Dustin (who knows what they were doing!)

I got a job

Yesterday I was offered a job at a commercial litigation practice. I told them that I would get back to them later than day as I was waiting to hear from a job that was closer to where I live so they called me back and offered me an extra $2,000 and a carpark, so I took it and I start work on Monday. Yah, money!!!

Mice

We have mice!!

I suspected we might have mice when I first moved into my room and saw mouse poopings and it was confirmed yesterday when mum saw one run across the floor and into the hall cupboard. We shut the door and tried to lock it in there and called the real estate agents who are stupid dickheads, they must be the most useless bunch of airheads in the world anyway, so last night I was sitting on the floor using the computer and suddenly i saw one run right next to me, I think my ear piercing scream frightened the little bugger away. I am not sure if it was the same one from upstairs or not as that one had mysteriously disappeared.
Later that night we were watching tv and Popcorn ran across the room with something, Courtney thought it was a ball but I had other suspicions! She had caught A mouse, not sure if there is one or more but our smart little kitty caught one of them. So Courtney wrestled it out of Popcorn's mouth and into a container and that was that. Until this morning, when the little blitter got away!!!

Weekend

You cant tell I was the one that fell!!

On Saturday night my sisters, mum and her friend decided to hit surfers. Me and Sara got dressed up in pretty dresses - dresses is the new jeans - and all headed off. First stop was to put Sara and Courtney on the Vomatron. I took this picture from a picture on my phone, i was quite impressed my phone's picture quality after a few cocktails and and dramas we decided to call it a night and spent the rest of the night on our deck girl talking (it was mostly listening to my drunk mother yabba on and on. Dont you hate drunk embarassing parents!!).

On Sunday spent the afternoon with Nicola and Dustin swimming and spaing and then headed to the moves to watch Epic Movie. I didn't really have high expectations, but because it looked kinda funny on the previews thought I would check it out. I thought it really sucked but I thought Scary Movie 4 sucked as well so if you liked that you might like Epic Movie. After I came home, i spotted this in the tree above the back stairs. I think I may have pissed it off by using my flash but how scary does it look!!

Our new house

Hi Everyone

We have finally moved into our new house.
Its in Southport again so not too far from Australia Fair and Centro, although not as close as I would like.
It is three bedrooms with a 'teenage retreat' which i live in, which has its own bathroom and semi kitchen facilites. Its a bit bare and messy at the moment, but in time I am sure will manage to fill it up.

Our home phone number is 0011 61 5561 1272. So drop me a line sometime.

Also, just to let you know, I have been regularly updating the photo gallery so keep checking it out and maybe you could even leave a message in my guestbook so I know whose readying my site.

Toni's Leaving - Hamilton

On 11 January 2007 we headed up to Hamilton with our two cars jam packed with suitcase, my mum, sisters and Katie also in tow.

Everyone got invited to Pizza at Pizza Hutt, but I can tell you it wasn't quite how I remembered it when i was 12 in Gisborne. I don't recommend going there if you have a large group of people as they dont let you reserve setting and we had about 5 tables.

We still had a great night and was great to catch up with everyone one last time before i headed back to Australia, as unless there is another wedding not sure when I will be back!

We have just managed to secure ourself a cool house and I even have my own bathroom - they call it a teenage retreat so I look forward to lots of visitors.

Home and Away

Just thought I would write a quick note to all those Home and Away fans out there. Home and Away started this week and its was a bit touch and go there for a second with Sally, but she miraculously survived and she can't remember who stabbed her, little does she know it was Rocco who she has invited to live in her house again (i think she threw him out for some reason).
Secret life
We found out that one of the new Summer Bay residents has a secret life! Its Ash, he is married with two kids. Whats worse is that Martha now knows and believes him when he says he will leave his wife for her!!!
That's all from Summer Bay for now!

Quick Note

Just a quick note to let everyone know, my family and myself made it to the Gold Coast (after almost missing our flight and having our names called over the intercom) and i am now going back to my Australian number as i don't think my NZ number is roaming because the settings are different and way too much hassle.

For those who don't know it, its +61 405 708 161

New Years 2007

Hey Kids
Welcome to my first post of 2007.
Hope all of you had a great new years and made some resolutions that you can keep!!
For New Years this year, I headed up to Tauranga and had it with Debra, Kim, Quentin, Hayley and some of their friends. It was a cocktail party (i don't know how many drinks i downed but was surprising well in the morning aside from being all kinds of tired! ;) )and all us girls got to dress up in pretty frocks.

I have also put some pictures in the photo gallery.
